For Girls!
Perhaps it's the first time I'm thinking about designing a public green space that considers "girls" specially. That makes me feel weird. Why is it the first time I can remember thinking about such a crucial and crystal clear problem?!!!
I can't remember my childhood feelings playing in parks clearly! I just can think of lovely moments of playing, as general as any other girl on earth! but perhaps there were some times I wasn't quite happy: when I was the only girl in playground, many boys were in the queue for sitting on swings and they didn't let me play!!!
There are some memories that they are just getting more visible in my mind from my childhood! It's lovely but at the same time it makes me feel..., I don't know what the feeling is!!! Those memories are not sweet anymore!

I found a pdf (Green space Scotland) about the impact of green space on aspects of quality of life.
There was a research involving girls between 10-14 in a rural area that showed most girls didn't feel welcome in the very places set aside for their recreation! especially in the evening that they were asked to move on from parks. Plus they just knew a few places to hang out without adult interference, and also recreational space was curtailed by social control exercised boys.
it's sad, isn't it?!
